Isle-Fly recognised the unique value of the Textron / Beech King Air series and invested in a brand new King Air 250GT aircraft in December 2018. The economics of a new aircraft and its customer comfort far outweighed any advantages of buying a cheaper second hand alternative and provided the same pricing levels to our clients.
Manufactured by Textron in Wichita Kansas the new King Air 250GT flies as high and fast as the VLJ (very light jets) that have dominated the market over the last few years, but has the benefits of a spacious cabin and onboard toilet facilities not provided in those other aircraft. The advantages of a turbo-prop over shorter legs, having access to much smaller airfields denied to small jet operators and superb fuel economy, have seen the aircraft exceed our expectations.
The versatility of the aircraft has seen it fly a ships crew into Vagar in the Faroe Islands, escort two world war II Mustangs from Biggin Hill to Sion in Switzerland, and operate out of the smaller airfields around London such as Blackbushe and Shoreham. Charters in comfort have been as far afield as Kristiansand in Norway to Malaga, Prague, Venice and Zurich.
Isle-Fly is now looking towards the possibility of expanding the fleet with a second new King Air 250GT in Quarter 2 of 2021 to better serve the Channel Islands for flights into the UK, Europe and beyond.
